In a fiery response to accusations against Pete Hegseth, his lawyer, Tim Parlatore, has vowed to take legal action against the woman alleging sexual assault if Hegseth’s confirmation as President Trump’s Defense Secretary is derailed. The allegations, which stem from a 2017 incident in Monterey, California, have resurfaced amidst Hegseth’s nomination process.

During an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Parlatore emphasized the potential for a lawsuit, accusing the woman of breaching a settlement agreement. “With the violation of the agreement, if he is not confirmed as secretary of defense, we may still bring a civil extortion claim against her,” Parlatore said.

When Collins pressed him further, asking, “You might take legal action if he’s not confirmed?” Parlatore didn’t mince words. “Absolutely. If the false claims of somebody that was part of an extortion, that was then put out in violation of a settlement agreement, ultimately causes him to lose his future employment opportunities, then yes, that is something that is worth bringing a lawsuit for,” he stated.
