Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is once again facing fierce criticism, this time over reports that he included his wife, Jennifer Hegseth, in high-level meetings with foreign military officials. According to The Wall Street Journal, Jennifer, a private citizen, was present during discussions involving sensitive military matters.
The Journal cited anonymous sources who claim that Jennifer Hegseth attended a Pentagon meeting in early March between Pete Hegseth and U.K. Secretary of Defense John Healey. Another reported instance took place at NATO headquarters in Brussels, where she was also present.

Typically, spouses of senior officials in a presidential administration hold at least a low-level security clearance. However, the Pentagon has refused to disclose whether Jennifer Hegseth possesses any clearance at all. While a Defense Secretary has the authority to invite guests to meetings with foreign counterparts, such invitations are uncommon, especially in discussions of classified nature.
