Miller also added a personal note about Bondi’s character, stating that she has “a heart of gold.” The comments fueled an outpouring of supportive reactions from political allies and observers who have followed Bondi’s long career in public service and law enforcement.

At the same time as the health revelation, reports indicate that President Donald Trump has tapped Bondi for a new role in his administration’s policy orbit, signaling that she remains a trusted figure within his broader political network.

According to the report, Bondi is expected to join the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, a panel designed to help shape the administration’s direction on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.

The council is co-chaired by White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks and White House science adviser Michael Kratsios. Within that structure, Bondi is expected to assist in coordinating efforts between federal agencies and private-sector technology leaders who are involved in shaping national AI strategy.

Her expected involvement underscores the administration’s continued push to integrate legal, policy, and technological expertise as artificial intelligence becomes a central focus of federal planning.

Bondi’s diagnosis comes only weeks after Trump publicly announced her departure from her role as attorney general. At the time, he praised her service in strong terms, emphasizing both her loyalty and her record in office.

In a Truth Social post, Trump described Bondi as “a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend.”

He also highlighted her work leading federal law enforcement priorities, writing: “Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900,” Trump wrote. “We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future.”

Following her departure, Todd Blanche stepped in to serve as acting attorney general, overseeing the Department of Justice during the transition period.

Bondi also addressed her exit publicly on X, expressing gratitude to Trump and outlining her plans to continue supporting his administration in a new capacity.

“I remain eternally grateful for the trust that President Trump placed in me to Make America Safe Again,” Bondi wrote.

She added, “Over the next month I will be working tirelessly to transition the office of Attorney General to the amazing Todd Blanche before moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration,” signaling both continuity and ongoing political engagement.

In a final reflection on her tenure, Bondi emphasized the significance of her time leading the Department of Justice, stating, “Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history,” Bondi wrote.

As Bondi continues her recovery, her expected role in shaping technology and AI policy suggests she remains positioned to play an influential part in the evolving policy landscape—despite stepping away from day-to-day leadership at the Justice Department.
