The former pro golfer and mega-influencer appeared in the Internet Invitational, a six-episode tournament created by Barstool Sports and Bob Does Sports. Dozens of content creators traveled to Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri last summer to film a million-dollar competition meant to be fun, silly, and made-for-YouTube.
But the finale brought a twist nobody expected.
A harmless moment turns into a national meltdown
During the championship match, cameras captured Spiranac pressing down tall grass around her teammate’s golf ball. In typical internet fashion, viewers pounced. The scene exploded across social platforms, and armchair referees immediately accused her of improving a lie.
