New York’s Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul is sounding the alarm over the Republican-backed spending bill—but not because it hurts hardworking Americans. No, Hochul is worried about how it will affect illegal immigrants.
In a recent interview with Telemundo 47, Hochul made it crystal clear where her priorities lie. When asked if the state might need to reduce services for migrants due to federal cuts, she responded, “I don’t want to go there. This is money that’s now been lost by the federal government — they used to help us pay for this. This is something we have to look at very seriously for how we can not leave these people without essential care.”
Let that sink in. New York’s governor is more concerned about illegal immigrants losing taxpayer-funded services than the state’s own citizens, who have been enduring rising costs, crime, and crumbling infrastructure under Democrat policies.
New York has become a sanctuary state in every sense of the term—lavishing benefits on illegal aliens while law-abiding citizens foot the bill. Under the Biden administration, New York welcomed busloads of illegal immigrants and handed out perks like free hotel stays, meals, medical care, and more.
