Voter registrars in certain counties may not have correctly updated registration information in the statewide system, according to technicians looking into the system malfunction. New records are uploaded to the secretary of state’s database every night by the county offices in the area. A vital step was disregarded by officials: the records of voters who failed to submit votes that were sought were withheld.
“Again, this is an error that relates to the code used for when a voter is sent a mail ballot and does not return it; it has no connection in any way to vote tabulation,” the office stated in a release. “The top-down Voter Registration and Election Management System (VREMS) project at the Secretary of State’s office will go live prior to the June 2024 election, and remove the need for these outdated processes.”
Daphne Lee, a registered Republican who lives in Las Vegas, told the Review-Journal that she discovered the system incorrectly said she and her family had sent in mail-in ballots for the recent Republican primary, even though they had not. Lee discovered this out of reviewing her online voting records on Sunday. She was notified that her voter record had been removed when she tried to opt out of receiving mail-in ballots in the future.
“It’s just so frustrating,” In a phone interview, Lee stated. “This makes everyone uncomfortable.”

About a number of other Republican voters who claimed that their voter files incorrectly showed that they had cast ballots, the Nevada GOP announced that it is closely collaborating with Aguilar’s office.
“We take these reports very seriously,” stated Trump supporter Chairman Michael McDonald. “The cornerstone of our Republic is the trust and confidence of the American people in the electoral process. Any indication of irregularities must be thoroughly investigated to ensure the integrity of our elections.”
