Nevada’s top election official is facing a new round of federal scrutiny just weeks before the 2026 midterm elections.
The office of Democratic Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar has confirmed that it received seven voter-related subpoenas from the U.S. Department of Justice over the past three months. The subpoenas were issued through the FBI, adding another layer of federal attention to the state’s voter rolls and election administration.
Aguilar’s office acknowledged receiving the subpoenas but declined to disclose precisely what information federal investigators are seeking. Officials also said they could not provide additional details concerning the records or testimony requested.
