A Florida father who pulled a concealed handgun during a confrontation with two teenagers at a school bus stop will not face criminal charges after investigators concluded that he was acting in self-defense.
But the decision by Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek has ignited a new controversy in Indiantown, Florida, where the local NAACP is questioning what happened and raising concerns about a firearm being displayed around schoolchildren.
The confrontation grew out of an alleged bullying incident involving the father’s 16-year-old son.
