Millions of Ford Drivers Just Got Terrifying News

Ford has recalled 850,318 vehicles due to a dangerous fuel pump defect that could cause engines to stall without warning. The recall hits some of the automaker’s most popular models, including the Ford F-150, Bronco, Explorer, and Lincoln Aviator and Navigator, affecting vehicles from model years 2021 through 2023.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) warns the issue lies with the low-pressure fuel pump, which can suddenly stop working. That means vehicles could instantly lose power while driving—a terrifying scenario, especially on highways.

Ford has admitted, “Fuel pump failure is more likely to occur in low fuel or warm weather and hot fuel conditions in the fuel tank.” In other words, summer road trips could turn into disaster zones.

Worse still, Ford has no solution ready. Though affected owners will begin receiving recall notices starting July 14, the automaker concedes the “remedy is under development.”
