In a recent analysis, Michigan’s election system is once again under scrutiny, as data analyst Tim Vetter and Check My Vote’s founder, Phani Mantravadi, uncover thousands of duplicate votes on the voter rolls. Following their findings in August, a total of 6,126 duplicate votes were detected on the August primary records. Oddly, after the report, 6,017 of those votes disappeared, leaving just 109 duplicates in October’s voting data. “Our Secretary of State has a record of scrubbing the voter rolls after the media and election integrity groups bring it to their attention,” a spokesperson stated.

Vetter, who has a background in data analytics, released the findings, raising concerns about the security of Michigan’s voter records and accusing the Michigan Secretary of State (SOS), Jocelyn Benson, of failing to safeguard election integrity. Vetter claims, “This data indicates that multiple ballots were received at the same address and voted each time from multiple ballots.” He argues that the system potentially jeopardizes innocent voters, putting them at risk of criminal charges if someone uses their voter ID for multiple ballots.

On October 28, Vetter and Mantravadi reportedly obtained voter data showing that 82,647 unique voter IDs had cast 208,075 votes. The discrepancy implies 125,428 additional ballots had been submitted under the same voter IDs, which were supposedly assigned to single individuals. The implications of these findings, captured in a visual chart by Check My Vote, point to flaws in Michigan’s election security. One alarming example involved a Detroit voter ID being used 29 times across 19 addresses.
