Renowned sportscaster Stephen A. Smith made headlines once more on Sunday when he unexpectedly defended Megyn Kelly, slamming liberals who automatically painted her as a racist for criticizing the NFL for playing the Black National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” during the Super Bowl.
During his radio show, Smith responded to online critics who had taken offense at his racially charged remarks regarding Kelly’s support for a single national anthem.

“There is no place for the so-called Black National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Kelly wrote during the game, “We already have a National Anthem and it includes EVERYONE.” Her comment generated an equal amount of reposts and responses, igniting a discussion regarding the NFL’s responsibility for promoting patriotism on the field.
Kelly’s faith in the national anthem is upheld by Smith, who also denounces claims of racism as damaging to actual victims of prejudice.
