What exactly do congressional Democrats bring to the table these days—besides relentless opposition to President Trump, endless lectures on “democracy,” and a talent for enriching themselves? It’s a serious question that deserves an honest answer.
We hear the same recycled talking points from the left: “Democrats fight for integrity,” “Democrats defend the rule of law,” and “Democrats are the adults in the room.” But every time you turn around, another Democrat is caught red-handed breaking the very rules they claim to uphold.
Enter Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), a career politician who’s made a name for herself by screeching about “justice” while operating like she’s above the law. A new report from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) just exposed the California Democrat for what she really is — a walking, talking violation of everything she claims to stand for.
According to the FEC, Waters’ campaign committee was slapped with a $68,000 fine after racking up over half a million dollars in violations. That’s not a typo. Here’s the breakdown:
“(1) misstatements of receipts and disbursements ($262,391 in receipts and $256,165 in disbursements); (2) acceptance of excessive contributions ($19,000); and (3) unlawful cash disbursements ($7,000).”
That adds up to a whopping $544,556 in campaign finance violations. And how did Waters and her team respond? By basically throwing their hands up and admitting it.
