A story published by The Gateway Pundit claims that the infamous sanctuary city of New York City is being overrun by an enormous number of undocumented immigrants. A video depicting tens of thousands of these people waiting in line for homes paid for by taxpayers recently went viral.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has moved decisively to address the issues brought about by rising migration, particularly with regard to buses carrying undocumented immigrants. He is now suing the bus company who provided this transportation, which is a big step. Considering that even Democratic officials in sanctuary cities are worried about the flood of undocumented immigrants, this trend is significant. The Biden administration has come under fire for what is thought to be its inadequacies in managing this urgent matter.

Sam Joshi, the Democratic mayor of Edison, New Jersey, has voiced his concerns, mentioning health and security hazards and added, “We don’t want them in Edison, period. That’s the bottom line.”

According to Boston 25 News,

Due to the overwhelming number of people requiring refuge, Governor Maura Healy has appealed to locals. She is calling on them to welcome her and offer support. The governor is also requesting assistance from the federal government.

The governor of Massachusetts has issued an urgent appeal for federal aid due to the continued arrival of 10 to 30 migrant families every day. Support the state’s attempt to offer housing; 40 hotels have already committed to it. We are more in need of your assistance than ever.

Governor Healy has said that there are now around 5,600 families living in the state’s emergency shelter system, a considerable rise. This number indicates a concerning 80% increase over the prior year. In a unique way, Massachusetts is the only state in the US that guarantees homeless families access to emergency shelters through a right-to-shelter statute. The state has been providing these families with help at a cost of about $45 million a month in an attempt to solve this situation. The urgency of the situation has forced the Healey administration to issue a call to action, urging people and organizations to donate their houses and places of business to serve as a makeshift haven for those in need.

“Most importantly, if you have an extra room or suite in your home, please consider hosting a family. Housing and shelter is our most pressing need and become a sponsor family,” Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll stated.

A state of emergency was recently proclaimed by the state because of the migrant inflow. At now, 5,600 families—roughly 20,000 people, including children and expectant mothers—are housed in state shelters. Compared to the number of families sheltered a year earlier, this indicates an 80% rise.

“In recent months, demand has increased to levels that our emergency shelter system cannot keep up with, especially as the number of families leaving shelter has dwindled due to a lack of affordable housing options and barriers to securing work,” The emergency was declared by Democratic Governor of Massachusetts, Maura Healey.

Healey accused Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of homeland security, in a letter “federal policies on immigration and work authorization, inadequate production of affordable housing” and “the end of Covid-era food and housing security programs” for the issues that the state was dealing with.

The state, according to her, was making an effort to rectify what she called “a federal crisis of inaction that is many years in the making” He asked Mayorkas to utilize executive authority to reduce “burdensome” obstacles for immigrants looking for work as well as to push Congress for “meaningful” legislation.
