Mamdani’s Media Picks Spark Backlash

New York City politics erupted into another cultural battlefield after three women who openly celebrated the murder of healthcare executive Brian Thompson appeared outside a Manhattan courthouse wearing official city-issued press credentials connected to Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration.

What happened next turned an already disturbing spectacle into a full-blown political controversy.

Critics are now accusing the socialist mayor of legitimizing extremism after he refused to immediately revoke the credentials from the women, despite their shocking public comments about Thompson’s death and his surviving children.

The controversy exploded following a court hearing connected to Luigi Mangione, the man accused in Thompson’s killing. Outside the courthouse, three self-described supporters of Mangione appeared before cameras wearing official New York City press badges.

But instead of reporting news, the women delivered remarks many Americans found revolting.

Ashley Rojas bluntly declared, “F— Brian Thompson. I don’t give a flying f— he died.”

Then Lena Weissbrot escalated the outrage even further with comments directed at Thompson’s family.
