President Donald Trump arrived at Gracie Mansion on Monday for a closely watched meeting with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, bringing together two political figures who disagree sharply on some of the biggest issues facing the country.
But instead of another public political brawl, the meeting produced a striking display of cooperation.
Trump’s visit marked his first meeting with Mamdani at the mayor’s official Manhattan residence and the third time the two men have sat down face-to-face since Mamdani won the 2025 mayoral election.
