Jesse Morgan was a truck driver who contracted with the USPS. He alleges that, in October 2020, he was assigned to transport a load he says contained completed ballots from Bethpage, New York, to Pennsylvania. After the election, Morgan shared his story with retired Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, a CIA-trained intelligence officer and a New York Times bestselling author, who was in Pennsylvania and received Morgan’s tip firsthand. According to Shaffer, Morgan seemed credible, and after thorough vetting, Shaffer believed his story was genuine.

The story took a sudden turn when Shaffer attempted to inform higher authorities about Morgan’s claims. Shaffer said he contacted his old friend, former U.S. Attorney General Ed Meese, who relayed the information to Attorney General Bill Barr. What happened next raised eyebrows: within minutes, Barr reportedly called Shaffer directly, insisting that he stop investigating Morgan’s claim. “You need to stop. You are interfering with my investigation,” Barr reportedly told Shaffer. Shaffer later recounted his shock, saying Barr became increasingly aggressive, ultimately instructing him to turn Morgan over to the authorities.
