He also took to social media to amplify his stance, posting: “Unilaterally attacking a sovereign nation is an act of war and a violation of federal and international law.”
Democratic Socialists Push Shockingly Pro-Maduro Agenda
The same day, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) released a statement that could have been written by Maduro’s own propaganda team.
“The Trump Administration has started an illegal war against Venezuela,” the DSA announced. “This is a nakedly imperialist war to install a US puppet government that will give Venezuela’s oil resources over to US corporations.”
The group’s full set of demands was jaw-dropping: return Maduro to Venezuela, halt the “war on drugs,” stop “military violence” against Venezuela, withdraw U.S. forces from the Caribbean, cease SOUTHCOM operations with “intervention purposes,” lift sanctions, and restore diplomatic relations.
The organization’s top priority? Sending a convicted narco-terrorist back home to continue running his cocaine empire.
“Trump’s war has nothing to do with drug trafficking,” the DSA claimed. “There is no substantiated evidence that high-level members of the Venezuelan government are ‘narco-terrorists.'”
Attorney General Pam Bondi, however, has confirmed that Maduro faces serious charges, including Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy, and Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices.
Venezuelans Celebrate While American Socialists Cry
Across Venezuela, the people erupted in celebration when news broke that Maduro had been captured. After years of brutal socialist mismanagement, citizens danced in the streets, relieved to see the tyrant finally held accountable.
Under Maduro, Venezuela went from one of Latin America’s richest nations to a country where citizens scavenged for food—even eating zoo animals to survive. Yet, the DSA remains committed to defending him.
The Democratic Socialists of America have a long history of supporting authoritarian regimes. In 2021, a DSA delegation met with Maduro in Caracas, praising his “socialist construction.” Since 2016, the organization has issued statements in solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution, calling for the lifting of U.S. sanctions.
Socialist Ideology on Full Display
The DSA statement compared Trump’s operation to the Iraq War, warning it would “impoverish the people of Latin America”—despite Maduro already destroying Venezuela’s economy. Inflation skyrocketed, medicine disappeared, and millions fled the country.
Yet in America, socialists are portraying Trump as the villain for arresting the dictator responsible.
The DSA is no fringe group. With more than 80,000 members and elected officials across the nation—including endorsements of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib—they are shaping political discourse at every level.
When socialists defend narco-terrorist dictators and demand their release, it is a warning for Americans. This isn’t about foreign policy nuances; it’s about ideology. Socialists consistently side with authoritarian regimes because they share the same collectivist worldview.
America Shows Strength, Socialists Show Their Loyalties
Venezuelans know the cost of socialism, which is why they celebrate in the streets. Meanwhile, U.S. socialists cry over what they call “regime change.”
President Trump has proven that American strength can remove tyrants and protect citizens. Meanwhile, the Democratic Socialists of America have made it crystal clear where their loyalties lie—with failed, violent regimes abroad, not with freedom and justice at home.
