A Louisiana pastor is standing by his actions after being arrested for allegedly attacking a neighbor he says threatened to rape his wife, assault his children, and murder members of his family.
Pastor Tony Spell, leader of Life Tabernacle Church in Baton Rouge, was taken into custody Tuesday on a charge of second-degree battery following a physical confrontation with a 20-year-old man who reportedly lives across the street from the church.
According to Pastor Spell, the altercation happened while he was outside repairing a church bus. He claims the young man approached him and made horrifying threats directed at his wife, children, and grandchildren—remarks that immediately escalated tensions between the two men.
