“It’s been obviously a long weekend,” Reddington said. “You’re all journalists, reporters, news media, and this weekend has been horrific with the coverage.”
The veteran defense attorney reserved some of his strongest words for Grace, whom he sarcastically referred to as “the Queen of Mean.”
Reddington accused Grace of repeating a version of the prosecution’s evidence that he says does not accurately reflect what was presented during the trial.
He specifically challenged Grace over claims involving alleged internet searches that were attributed to Clancy.
“I challenge Nancy Grace to show us where Lindsay Clancy ever said, ever googled ‘How to kill’ — words that came out of her mouth — and these things hurt, these things hurt people. If you’re going to be a journalist, do it right.”
The attorney’s comments came as the case entered one of its most consequential stages.
After days of testimony and closing arguments, the 12-person jury is now responsible for determining Clancy’s fate. The proceedings have attracted widespread national attention, with reporters and commentators closely following the evidence surrounding the deaths of her children and the subsequent attempt on her own life.
Reddington later shifted his tone, however, praising two local journalists for their reporting on the proceedings.
The contrast was notable. While he accused prominent national media personalities of mishandling the case, he credited journalists on the ground for their coverage of the trial.
Meanwhile, jurors continued their examination of critical evidence as deliberations stretched into Friday morning.
The jury reportedly asked to review materials that prosecutors and defense attorneys had previously presented during the proceedings.
Clancy’s family members and members of the public were back inside the courtroom when Judge William Sullivan appeared to hold up two clear plastic bags containing bottles of medication connected to the case.
The medication evidence has been an important part of the competing arguments presented to the jury.
Defense attorney Kevin Reddington later told the Daily Mail that jurors specifically wanted to inspect the two bags containing pill bottles that had been recovered by police and Clancy’s former husband, Patrick.
The jurors also requested another significant piece of evidence: the bloody knife involved in Clancy’s suicide attempt.
The requests offered a glimpse into the evidence the jury was considering as it worked through the conflicting arguments presented during the trial.
The 12 jurors began deliberations Thursday after both sides delivered their closing arguments.
Nine women and three men were ultimately selected from a larger pool of 18 jurors to decide the case.
Their decision carries enormous consequences.
The jury must determine whether Clancy is guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, or manslaughter. They may also find her not guilty or conclude that she was not guilty by reason of insanity.
That final question places the jury at the center of a case that has generated intense public interest and fierce debate over Clancy’s mental state, the evidence surrounding the deaths, and the circumstances leading up to the tragedy.
For Reddington, however, the fight has extended beyond the courtroom.
His criticism of Hannity and Grace underscored the defense team’s frustration with how the case has been portrayed outside the courthouse. His comments also reflected a broader warning to journalists covering emotionally charged criminal proceedings: sensational claims, if unsupported by the evidence, can have serious consequences.
As jurors examine the evidence for themselves, the courtroom—not television commentary—will ultimately determine what conclusions can be drawn from the record.
And with deliberations underway, attention remains fixed on the jury as it considers the evidence, the competing arguments and the extraordinary circumstances at the heart of the Lindsay Clancy case.
