Kristi Noem Did NOT Come to Play

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem just wrapped up a fast-paced and high-impact international tour—and it’s sending a resounding message to both allies and adversaries: America is back, and it’s no longer playing defense.

Traveling across four strategic nations, Noem took President Donald Trump’s vision of renewed strength and unshakable national security directly to the global stage. In her first major overseas diplomatic mission, Noem didn’t just shake hands and smile for the cameras—she laid down a bold new doctrine: the Trump administration will prioritize American safety above all else.

Noem began her historic trip in Bahrain, where she became the first Homeland Security Secretary to visit the U.S. Coast Guard Patrol Forces Southwest Asia. The base, a critical linchpin in U.S. military strategy, is home to six Coast Guard cutters and over 200 personnel tasked with protecting U.S. Navy assets and commercial shipping routes in the volatile region.

While in Bahrain, Noem met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, reinforcing the half-century-long alliance between the U.S. and Bahrain. But the trip wasn’t just ceremonial—Noem sat down with American service members to discuss Force Design 2028, a sweeping transformation effort to modernize and restructure the Coast Guard.
