Left-leaning independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. voiced shock and dissatisfaction at the Colorado Supreme Court’s unprecedented ruling to remove former President Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 election ballot. Kennedy delivered a strong critique of the court on Tuesday, leaving no space for doubt.
On Tuesday, the state highest court—which is composed mostly of Democratic activists—made an unexpected decision. On January 6, 2021, they referred to Donald Trump’s acts as a “insurrection” against the federal government. Consequently, they contend that the 14th Amendment should bar him from seeking reelection.

RFK Jr. claims that the Supreme Court is weakening democracy, even if a lower court’s decision contradicts him. He critiques the choice and draws comparisons between it and the policies of a banana republic.
“Trump blocked from the ballot in Colorado. When a court in another country disqualifies an opposition candidate from running, we say, ‘That’s not a real democracy.’ Now it’s happening here,” Kennedy posted on Tuesday on social media.
He wrote a follow-up after that, “I’m not a Trump supporter (if I were, I wouldn’t be running against him!) But I want to beat him in a fair election, not because he was kicked off the ballot. Let the voters choose, not the courts!”
The Colorado Republican Party promises to boycott state primaries if this blatantly biased ruling is upheld.
Kennedy had much to say about this serious threat to American democracy. Soon after the aforementioned tweets, he turned to social media to provide a more in-depth viewpoint.
“Every American should be troubled by the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to remove President Trump from the ballot. The court has deprived him of a consequential right without having been convicted of a crime,” The previous contender for Democrats wrote.
“This was done without an evidentiary hearing in which he is given the basic right of confronting his accusers. When any candidate is deprived of his right to run, the American people are deprived of their right to choose,” RFK Jr. continued.
“I hope the Colorado Supreme Court swiftly reverses this decision. At the very least, it contributes to the perception that the elites are picking the President by manipulating the legal system, and through other interventions,” he said, adding, “If Trump is kept out of office through judicial fiat rather than being defeated in a fair election, his supporters will never accept the result. This country will become ungovernable.”

“It’s time to trust the voters. It is up to the people to decide who the best candidate is. Not the courts. The people. That’s Democracy 101,” he concluded.
In Colorado, Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican contender, has withdrawn from the race to support Trump, denouncing the electoral campaign orchestrated by extremist Democrats.
“This is what an actual attack on democracy looks like: in an un-American, unconstitutional, and unprecedented decision, a cabal of Democrat judges are barring Trump from the ballot in Colorado,” On Tuesday, Ramaswamy wrote in part. “Having tried every trick in the book to eliminate President Trump from running in this election, the bipartisan Establishment is now deploying a new tactic to bar him from ever holding office again: the 14th Amendment. I pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary unless Trump is also allowed to be on the state’s ballot, and I demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley to do the same immediately – or else they are tacitly endorsing this illegal maneuver which will have disastrous consequences for our country.”
It should be kept in mind that the four Colorado “justices” who voted to prevent Trump from running for office on the state level are all far-left political appointments.
So, just who are these four political operators from a party? The majority was voted by largely Ivy Leaguers Justices Richard L. Gabriel, William, W. Hood III, Melissa Hart, and Monica Márquez. There were three dissenting justices.
In addition to being a lifelong property lawyer, Gabriel is also a jazz musician who has been accused of gender discrimination and harassment but has been exonerated after an investigation, according to the Daily Mail.
For the greater part of her legal career, Justice Melissa Hart was a lecturer. A federal court dismissed the lawsuit against her after she was accused of age and race discrimination against a black job candidate, according to the Daily Mail.
In the end, radical LGBT activist Justice Monica Márquez was appointed to the court in order to satisfy the racial-obsessed Democrats’ need to have the “first Latina Justice” on the bench.
