Kamala Harris is on a redemption tour, trying to convince Americans that her failed presidential bid wasn’t really a failure at all. She’s out promoting her new book, 107 Days, but what she said during a Washington, D.C. event left even her most loyal supporters stunned.
The “Most Qualified Candidate Ever”?
During a sit-down interview at the Warner Theatre with journalist Kara Swisher, Harris tried to justify why her 2024 campaign fell flat. She rattled off her resume — San Francisco District Attorney, California Attorney General, U.S. Senator, and Vice President — before dropping a line that had the room gasping.
“Well, some people have actually said I was the most qualified candidate ever to run for president,” Harris said confidently.
Swisher, visibly taken aback, joked about Harris borrowing Trump’s “some people say” phrasing. But Harris didn’t back down.
“I’m just speaking fact,” she insisted.
That comment sent shockwaves across social media. The same Kamala Harris who couldn’t hold a single swing state against Donald Trump was now comparing herself — indirectly — to Washington, Lincoln, and Reagan.
