President Donald J. Trump has once again proven why he’s the master negotiator on the global stage. On Wednesday, Trump unveiled a groundbreaking trade pact with Vietnam that’s set to level the playing field for American businesses and bring billions in new opportunities to U.S. manufacturers, automakers, and farmers.
For years, Vietnam has served as a safe haven for American companies fleeing high labor costs and regulatory red tape in China. With fewer political entanglements and an increasingly business-friendly environment, Vietnam has attracted U.S. corporations in droves. However, those same companies often found themselves penalized by tariffs when trying to move goods between the two nations.
That roadblock is now gone, thanks to President Trump’s aggressive and unapologetic America First approach to trade policy.
In a message shared on social media, Trump called the new agreement a “Great Deal of Cooperation” and made it clear that the terms overwhelmingly favor the United States.
