JUST IN: Steve Hilton’s SHOCK California Lead!

A new Emerson College poll shows former Fox News host Steve Hilton leading California’s crowded gubernatorial primary, signaling potential trouble for Democrats in the state. Former Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, another top Republican contender, trails closely in a tie for second place — a trend that could reshape California politics ahead of the November general election.

The survey, conducted February 13–14 among 1,000 likely voters, put Hilton at 17 percent support. Democratic frontrunner U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) was just behind with 14 percent, tying with Bianco, who also captured 14 percent. These results suggest a tight race that Democrats may struggle to control given California’s unique primary rules.

Other Democrats lagged in the poll, including former U.S. Rep. Katie Porter, who drew 10 percent, and billionaire Tom Steyer with nine percent. Meanwhile, a sizable 21 percent of voters remain undecided, creating an opening for Republican challengers to capitalize.

Emerson’s latest figures highlight Hilton’s momentum. Support for the British-born strategist rose five points since December, vaulting him from second place to the lead. This shift demonstrates growing voter enthusiasm for a candidate positioning himself as an outsider capable of challenging entrenched Democratic dominance.
