JUST IN: McConnell’s War on Trump HEATS UP!

More than four years after the January 6 protests, former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is making it clear that his stance against former President Donald Trump has not softened. In an interview on CBS’s 60 Minutes on Sunday, McConnell reaffirmed his belief that Trump was “practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.” He also criticized Trump’s decision to consider pardons for those involved.

During the interview, CBS’s Lesley Stahl pressed McConnell on his feelings about Trump and the aftermath of the Capitol breach. McConnell did not hold back, stating that he remains “very upset” over what transpired.

Stahl reminded McConnell that he, along with other congressional leaders, had to be evacuated as protesters stormed the Capitol. His own staff, he recounted, had to barricade themselves inside his office as rioters attempted to break in.
