The shocking case surrounding the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk is now heading into the courtroom, and the entire nation will be watching. Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old charged with gunning down the Turning Point USA founder, will stand trial next month after a Utah judge announced that proceedings will be livestreamed for all to see.
Robinson, who could face the death penalty if convicted, was arrested on September 11 after telling investigators he had killed Kirk. Authorities say the attack was politically motivated, fueled by Kirk’s outspoken opposition to radical gender ideology and his strong conservative values.
During a hearing on Monday, U.S. 4th District Court Judge Tony Graf set the next major date for October 30 at 10 a.m. in Provo. Graf explained the hearing would be conducted in person should the defense want their client present — a request quickly confirmed by Robinson’s attorney, Kathryn Nester.
