The political war over rhetoric surrounding the Trump administration escalated again this week after former MSNBC host Joy Reid sharply criticized White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller during a recent episode of her YouTube program.
Reid, who departed MSNBC in early 2025, used her online platform to respond to remarks Miller delivered during a State Department event on July 16 that brought together representatives from dozens of countries. During the gathering, Miller argued that violent left-wing extremism should be viewed as an organized international threat rather than a series of isolated incidents.
Addressing officials representing 67 nations, Miller claimed that violent Antifa activists operate through transnational networks that share resources and coordinate activities across borders. He described the movement as a “fatal cancer of civilization.”
