Fetterman even met with Trump post-election and backed certain proposals, including the idea of acquiring Greenland—an idea Trump had previously floated. These gestures gave the illusion of a politician willing to think independently.
But that was all a carefully crafted mirage.
When key votes came up, Fetterman sided with the Left every single time, opposing Trump-backed nominees Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. His votes made it crystal clear where his loyalty truly lies.
If there was any doubt about where he stood, Fetterman erased it by filming a video outside his office, standing in front of two flags: the POW/MIA flag and the LGBTQ+ pride flag. According to Fetterman, these two banners represented the “pillars” of his political beliefs.
“I’m standing in front of my office and two flags that are two core values of mine. I am an unapologetically pro military, also very pro for the LGBTQ communities,” Fetterman declared.
He then attempted to draw a false equivalence between race, gender identity, and military service, making a convoluted argument that banning transgender individuals from serving in the armed forces was akin to racial segregation in the military.
“And I would like to remind everyone that it was a time when it was very controversial to desegregate our military, and there was a time that was incredibly controversial to have women serve in a compound roles, and it was also very controversial regarding on who loves that’s why I’m encouraging you to honor the inherent dignity of how you identify, and I’m going to defend and lean in for the trans community now, because right now it might not be popular to do that, that’s exactly the reason why I’m choosing to lean in on right now and stand with this community,” Fetterman stated.
Fetterman didn’t stop there. He called for the immediate reversal of Trump’s executive order banning transgender individuals from military service. He even argued that controversial medical procedures—which take soldiers off duty for extended recovery periods and often involve serious mental health concerns—were fully compatible with the military’s primary mission.

“I am calling to rescind that kind of executive orders and to allow and honor the inherent dignity of the soldier, and regardless of whatever the race is, whatever the gender is, whatever they love or how they identify, and remember that does make for a military that’s fully compatible with being lethal and to win wars,” Fetterman concluded.
Democrats suffered a massive defeat in 2024, largely because voters rejected their obsession with woke policies. But instead of changing course, figures like Fetterman are digging in deeper, making it clear they’re willing to sacrifice political capital to push radical social policies.
Fetterman’s decision to make transgender military service his hill to die on is just another sign that the Democratic Party isn’t interested in winning back middle America. Instead, they’re marching full speed ahead on the same extreme agenda that got them rejected at the ballot box.
I am very disappointed I thought Fetterman had finally started making sense after all the muttering he did
