On Monday, President Joe Biden stopped to speak with reporters on the South Lawn of the White House before heading to Wilmington, Delaware. His comments addressed the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
The attempt took place on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 pm at Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club, while the former president was playing a round of golf with real estate mogul Steve Witkoff. Shots were reportedly fired, and the incident quickly escalated into a national security concern.

According to federal prosecutors, would-be assassin Ryan Routh had been plotting the attack well in advance. He set up a sniper’s nest outside the perimeter of Trump’s golf course, camouflaging himself in the dense shrubbery. The sniper nest was discovered to contain two backpacks, an AK-47, and a GoPro camera. Investigators believe the setup had been in place for nearly 12 hours before the plot was uncovered, raising serious questions about how Routh knew of Trump’s plans, which had not been publicly disclosed.
