Congressman Jim Himes (D-CT), the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, is sounding the alarm after Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released explosive documents exposing Obama-era corruption at the highest levels of the intelligence community.
The newly declassified files suggest that top intel officials under President Obama—including former CIA Director John Brennan—weaponized false claims about Donald Trump’s supposed ties to Russia in an effort to sabotage his presidency. The information strongly supports long-held claims that Hillary Clinton’s discredited dossier served as the basis for an attempted coup against Trump.
Instead of addressing the facts, Himes launched a furious tirade during a CBS interview, lashing out at Gabbard and calling her revelations a “dangerous lie.” He warned that Brennan could be endangered by what he described as “MAGA mouth breathers,” doubling down on personal attacks rather than confronting the serious implications of the information being released.
“What you saw from the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, was not just a lie, but a very dangerous lie, because when you start throwing around language like sedition and treason, somebody is going to get hurt,” Himes told CBS’s Margaret Brennan.
