Zelensky, however, had other plans.
Trump’s Billion-Dollar Mineral Deal
Donald Trump’s America First approach focused on securing a mineral rights agreement that would allow the U.S. to tap into Ukraine’s rare earth minerals. The deal was projected to bring in $500 billion, a long-term investment benefiting both countries.
Zelensky was expected to sign the agreement during his Oval Office meeting with Trump and Vance. But instead of sealing the deal, he went on a tirade, insisting that America “hadn’t done enough” and demanding a U.S. security guarantee—essentially a promise that American soldiers would fight for Ukraine if Russia ever invaded again.
Trump was having none of it. He dismissed Zelensky’s demands outright and called him out for acting ungrateful.
The Globalists Scramble to Salvage the War
After Zelensky’s failed bid to strong-arm Trump, his globalist allies sprang into action. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer quickly organized a summit with Zelensky, hoping to form a “coalition of the willing” to protect Ukraine.
“We are all working together in Europe in order to find a basis for cooperation with America for true peace and guaranteed security,” Zelensky told reporters after the meeting.
Starmer, eager to push the West further into war, openly admitted, “The mineral deal is not enough on its own.” He even floated the idea of British troops in Ukraine, provided the U.S. committed to backing them up.
The end goal? Drag America back into another foreign conflict.
J.D. Vance Drops the Hammer
Vice President J.D. Vance wasted no time shutting that plan down. During an interview with Sean Hannity, Vance made it clear that under Trump, Ukraine wasn’t getting a security guarantee—it was getting an economic deal.
“The mineral rights deal allows the American people to get some of their money back, but it also shows the Ukrainian people that America has a long-term investment in their sovereignty,” Vance explained.

He dismissed the idea that a security guarantee required troops, arguing that an economic partnership would provide Ukraine with real stability.
“The president knows that, look, if you want real security guarantees, if you want to actually ensure that Vladimir Putin does not invade Ukraine again, the very best security guarantee is to give Americans economic upside in the future of Ukraine. That is a way better security guarantee than 20,000 troops from some random country that hasn’t fought a war in 30 or 40 years,” Vance said. “The security guarantee, and also the economic guarantee for Ukraine, is to rebuild the country and ensure that America has a long-term interest.”
With Vance and Trump standing firm, Zelensky’s attempt to manipulate the U.S. into deeper military involvement fell flat. The era of endless, unchecked American support for Ukraine is over.
