The Biden-era bureaucracy is finally feeling the pinch of accountability — but it’s coming under President Trump’s watch.
The Trump Administration confirmed Friday that more than 4,000 federal workers have been fired as the government shutdown stretches toward its third week. The firings, disclosed in a Justice Department court filing, mark one of the largest reductions of federal staff in modern history — and it’s sending shockwaves through Washington’s entrenched bureaucracy.
Massive Cuts Across Multiple Agencies
According to the filing in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the biggest layoffs hit the Treasury Department and the Department of Health and Human Services — roughly 1,446 and up to 1,200 employees respectively.
Other departments weren’t spared either. The Department of Education let go of 466 employees, Housing and Urban Development cut 442, Commerce lost 315, Energy dropped 187, and Homeland Security terminated 176, according to the New York Post.
