The remarks come at a sensitive moment as international mediators continue searching for a path to de-escalation. A ceasefire framework reportedly backed by the United States was recently presented in an effort to halt hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
That proposal, however, failed to gain traction after Hezbollah reportedly rejected the arrangement.
Now Iran is doubling down.
Another influential figure within Iran’s leadership structure echoed Araghchi’s position and warned that Lebanon cannot be separated from any future negotiations.
Mohsen Rezaei, a senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, delivered a blunt message directed at Israel.
“Today we again warn this sinister regime to leave Lebanon. They should know that Lebanon will be an inseparable part of any agreement and any ceasefire,” Rezaei said, according to Iran’s Mehr news agency.
The comments underscore the growing effort by Tehran to ensure that Hezbollah remains protected politically and strategically despite months of military pressure.
Israel has continued conducting operations against Hezbollah targets following repeated attacks launched from Lebanese territory. The Israeli military has argued that its actions are necessary to defend northern communities that have faced ongoing threats from the terrorist organization.
Hezbollah, meanwhile, remains one of Iran’s most important regional allies and serves as a critical component of Tehran’s broader influence throughout the Middle East.
Rezaei made no effort to hide that reality.
He openly praised Hezbollah’s role in the conflict and reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to supporting the organization.
The adviser stated that Hezbollah “made great sacrifices in the recent war and it is our ally,” adding, “therefore, we support Hezbollah and remain firmly committed to our obligations toward it.”
Those statements are likely to reinforce long-standing concerns among Israeli officials and Western governments that Iran continues to direct, fund, and arm proxy forces across the region while simultaneously attempting to shape diplomatic outcomes.
For Israel, the challenge remains balancing military objectives with mounting international pressure for a negotiated settlement. For Iran, preserving Hezbollah’s position appears to be a non-negotiable priority.
As ceasefire discussions continue, Tehran’s latest declarations suggest that any agreement focused solely on Israel and Iran may be dead on arrival. Iranian leaders are making it increasingly clear that Hezbollah’s future, Lebanon’s territorial concerns, and Israel’s military presence will all be tied together in the next phase of negotiations.
Whether those demands help advance peace or further complicate already fragile talks remains to be seen. What is clear is that Iran has publicly established a new condition for ending the conflict, and Hezbollah remains at the center of its strategy.
