Iran in Panic After Mamdani’s Latest Action

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani stirred controversy this week by inviting anti-Israel activist Mahmoud Khalil and his family to a Ramadan dinner at Gracie Mansion. Khalil, a Syrian-born former Columbia University graduate student, attended the gathering with his wife, Noor, and their young son, Deen, according to The New York Post.

“Last night, as we marked the one-year anniversary of his detention, Rama and I were honored to welcome Mahmoud, Noor, and their son Deen to Gracie Mansion to break our fast together,” Mamdani wrote on Instagram alongside a photo from the dinner.

The image captured Mamdani’s wife, Rama Duwaji, holding a plate while standing beside Khalil, who was seated and smiling during the event. The dinner took place during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, when observant Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset before sharing meals with loved ones.

Khalil has been a lightning rod for controversy after being arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement last year. He has been fighting deportation ever since, as the Trump administration accused him of committing fraud on his green card application.
