U.S. Forces Intercept Iranian Missile Barrage Following Renewed Tensions
Iran launched a missile attack targeting U.S. forces stationed in the Middle East on Tuesday, according to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which described the strike as an “attempted surprise attack.” The incident marks another escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran following weeks of military operations and ongoing diplomatic negotiations.
CENTCOM reported that multiple ballistic missiles were fired by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). U.S. and allied missile defense systems successfully intercepted every incoming projectile before they could reach their intended targets. Officials said there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
