American authorities have raised the number of seats available for those seeking asylum to get legal protection for the second time in less than a month.

The increase “reflects our commitment to continue to expand lawful options for migrants,” stated Blas Nuez-Neto, assistant secretary for border and immigration policy at the Homeland Security Department.
“We’ll continue to expand appointments at the border as our operations allow in terms of capacity.”
Nuez-Neto described CBP One as a “safe and orderly option” while visiting Harlingen, Texas.
One week after Texas filed a lawsuit to outlaw a contentious strategy for encouraging immigration, he unveiled a major expansion scheme.
Since Jan. 12, there has been a lack of supply, which has resulted in high demand, prompting some people to consider crossing the border illegally or scrapping their entire plan. Despite being given a date for confirmation by phone screen, a Guatemalan seeking refuge in Kansas City saw many “system error” notifications before gaining a slot. The applicant was uncertain because the email was never received.
“They keep improving it little by little,” he said.
Hernandez, who is traveling alone, draws attention to the general perception that large families are unfairly disadvantageous, despite claims to the contrary made by American leaders.
Beatriz Melchor, 47, is waiting to see how the most recent app hike plays out. She has been using it with her family for six weeks, but she has not seen any changes since the upgrades were made public in the beginning of May.
We’ve made some significant improvements to the app in an effort to make it better for asylum seekers. In order to prevent crowding, we’re now giving individuals who have been using the app the longest priority and offering appointment spaces throughout the day rather than all at once.
“We have more than a month trying and there are people here nine days, four days, and they get their appointments,” she said.
Her homeland of Melchor in the Mexican state of Guerrero was no longer secure. She was unable to leave or enter due to criminals’ construction of roadblocks. For her own safety, she had to go.
She is ready to wait if there are any technical problems with the smartphone app, despite her worries about safety in Tijuana.
