Alpha News reporter Liz Collin, citing unnamed law enforcement sources, reported that officers also arrested a man identified as 22-year-old Abdulrahman Abdi, who was allegedly living with Adnan at the residence.
The events leading up to the reported search began earlier Tuesday, when Minneapolis police encountered Abdi during a traffic stop.
The Minneapolis Police Department told the Daily Mail that Abdi was cited for allegedly driving without a valid license and without proof of insurance.
Police said he was initially released from the scene while officers began the process of impounding the vehicle. During that process, authorities allegedly discovered a firearm inside the vehicle.
Investigators later located Abdi at an address on Marquette Avenue, according to the department.
Officers subsequently took him into custody “without incident,” police said.
Abdi was booked into the Hennepin County Jail on a weapons-related charge. Jail records reportedly show that he was released Wednesday night.
The reported arrest has drawn additional attention because of Abdi’s prior encounters with the criminal justice system.
According to court records reviewed by the Daily Mail, Abdi has accumulated 10 convictions, the majority of which were misdemeanor offenses.
Among the more serious cases was a 2024 felony conviction stemming from an incident in which authorities said Abdi was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee at speeds reaching 108 mph while traveling alongside a Dodge Durango in St. Paul.
He later pleaded guilty to fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.
As part of his sentence, Abdi received one day in the Dakota County Jail and was placed on supervised probation for two years, according to a sentencing order.
The court records also reportedly show a conviction from last year involving speeding while operating a vehicle despite having a driver’s license that had previously been revoked.
Additional offenses dating back to 2022 reportedly include violations involving cellphone use while driving, excessive speeding, and failure to provide proof of insurance.
The reported raid has generated significant interest because of the alleged connection to the family of the Minnesota Democrat, though important details surrounding that connection remain unconfirmed.
At this time, there is no indication that Rep. Omar was involved in the incident. There is also no publicly confirmed allegation that her son committed a crime or that he was the target of the reported police investigation.
The central question now is what authorities were investigating when they executed the reported search warrant and whether additional information will emerge concerning the residence, the firearms allegedly recovered, and the relationship between those living at the apartment.
For now, the known facts surrounding the arrest center on Abdi, while the alleged connection between the apartment and Omar’s son remains based on media reports that have not been independently confirmed.
As more information becomes available from Minneapolis police, court records, or other official sources, the reported incident could provide a clearer picture of what prompted Tuesday night’s law enforcement activity.
If Omar was a decent human mother/woman, she would never allow her son (even if in his early 20s) to live or be associated with a guy who has been breaking the law for years, just proves what a low-class family they are.
He should be deported along with his mother!
