Rep. Ilhan Omar is facing renewed scrutiny this week after refusing to answer questions from reporters regarding her alleged connections to the massive Minnesota “Feeding Our Future” fraud case—an alleged scheme federal prosecutors say drained roughly $250 million in taxpayer funds.
The confrontation took place in the halls of Congress when Fox News Digital pressed Omar on Monday about whether she had encouraged Minnesota Democrats to block a subpoena effort tied to the ongoing investigation. Without responding, Omar continued walking and declined to engage with reporters.
She also did not answer additional questions about whether she would voluntarily cooperate with a potential House Oversight Committee inquiry or turn over documents related to communications potentially connected to the case.
The controversy surrounding Omar has intensified in recent months as Minnesota Republican lawmakers continue to demand access to records and testimony linked to the sprawling Feeding Our Future investigation, one of the largest COVID-era fraud cases uncovered in the United States.
