The Trump administration just sent a loud and clear message to corporate America: hiring unauthorized workers comes with serious consequences.

A massive Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid at a Georgia electric vehicle battery plant has left major employers scrambling to review their hiring practices, fearing they might be next.

In what officials are calling the largest single-location workplace enforcement action in Homeland Security Investigations history, ICE agents stormed the Bryan County Hyundai battery facility, arresting 475 workers in one sweep.

Of those arrested, around 300 were South Korean nationals—a fact that immediately turned the case into an international issue. Dramatic footage showed federal officers leading detained workers away, some in handcuffs, before loading them onto buses bound for a Georgia detention center in Folkston.
