In a move that has intensified the spotlight on the Epstein case, the U.S. House Oversight Committee has served a subpoena to Pam Bondi, former Florida Attorney General, demanding her testimony. Bondi is now among ten individuals summoned to testify before lawmakers in the coming months as part of the ongoing investigation into the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The subpoena, which was issued on Tuesday, directs Bondi to appear on August 19 in front of Chair James Comer (R-KY) and other members of the Republican-led committee. The letter accompanying the subpoena makes clear the areas of focus: Bondi is expected to provide documents relating to Epstein and his longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. Specifically, the committee is requesting case files and any communications she may have had with Maxwell, signaling a deepening of the investigation into the notorious pair.
This development comes as the House committee escalates its efforts to uncover more details about Epstein’s operation and his alleged network. Public pressure, especially from Trump’s conservative base, has mounted on Republican lawmakers to bring further transparency to the investigation. Epstein’s death in 2019, while in federal custody, left many questions unanswered. His ties to influential figures, including Maxwell, have fueled speculation and demands for accountability.
