Hegseth’s Plan: Military Surge at the Border

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has issued a stark warning to illegal aliens attempting to breach newly secured border zones under U.S. military control, declaring that violators will face immediate detention and severe criminal charges.

The Department of Defense recently annexed a 63-mile stretch of land near El Paso, Texas, as part of the Fort Bliss military installation. This newly designated “National Defense Area” marks the second such zone established along the southern border in recent months, with a similar area now part of Fort Huachuca in Arizona. These zones cover expansive, rugged stretches of land notorious for illegal crossings, providing U.S. troops with broader authority to detain and process border trespassers.

According to Hegseth, the military presence at these sites is ramping up rapidly. In a video statement released Friday, the defense secretary emphasized the serious consequences for anyone attempting to cross into these zones.
