Harris’ Word Salad: Israel Question Disaster!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

While Harris’ initial statement seemed to focus on U.S. military support for Israel, the conversation took an unclear turn when she began discussing diplomatic efforts. “Now the work we do diplomatically with the leadership of Israel is an ongoing pursuit around making clear our principles, which include the need for humanitarian aid, the need for this war to end, the need for a deal to be done which would release the hostages and create a cease-fire. And we’re not going to stop in terms of putting that pressure on Israel and in the region, including Arab leaders,” she continued.

Critics were quick to point out the vagueness and complexity of Harris’ remarks, with many feeling that she danced around the issues rather than offering concrete statements. Her reluctance to unequivocally commit to supporting Israel, one of the U.S.’s most critical allies in the Middle East, has sparked frustration, especially on social media.

Prominent figures took to the X platform (formerly Twitter) to express their discontent. Outkick founder Clay Travis, a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, commented, “Kamala is asked about Israel, can’t make any sense at all. Kamala is like a running team that’s behind and can’t throw the ball. After hiding her for months, they are now panicking and doing interviews everywhere. But that’s going to get her behind more.”

Former ESPN anchor Sage Steele was equally unimpressed, asking, “Someone please interpret what she just said here…”

Conservative figures also weighed in, expressing concern about Harris’ grasp of U.S. foreign policy. John Daniel Davidson, senior editor at The Federalist, added, “People talk this way when they have absolutely nothing substantive to say because they know next to nothing about the subject at hand.” Mark Levin, a popular conservative talk show host, simply labeled the interview as “Shocking.”

Comedian Tim Young sarcastically remarked on the absurdity of Harris’ response: “60 minutes asked Kamala if Netanyahu even listens to us after we give Israel weapons and money. Kamala replies with a pile of word salad. It would be easier if she just said that no world leader respects or listens to her even after we hand out money.”

Members of Congress didn’t hold back either. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) took aim at Harris, saying, “This is the real Kamala. And she’s no friend of Israel.” Similarly, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) criticized the Vice President for failing to acknowledge Netanyahu’s role as a crucial U.S. ally. “Israel is taking out Iranian-backed terrorists across the Middle East, making the world safer for Israel and the United States yet Kamala Harris refuses to say that Prime Minister Netanyahu is a strong ally to America. Kamala Harris is unfit to be the President of the United States,” Stefanik wrote.

Whitaker also directly asked Harris if the U.S. has a strong alliance with Netanyahu. Harris dodged the question, responding, “I think with all due respect, the better question is do we have an important alliance between the American people and the Israeli people, and the answer to that question is yes,” avoiding a direct answer about Netanyahu himself.

This isn’t the first time Harris has faced criticism for her unclear responses. Just last month, she was criticized for failing to provide specific details about U.S. policy towards Israel during a National Association of Black Journalists event. When pressed on how she would approach the ongoing conflict if elected president, Harris replied, “We need to get this deal done, and we need to get it done immediately.”

As the Biden administration continues to navigate the turbulent waters of Middle East diplomacy, Harris’ vague and noncommittal answers have many questioning her preparedness for the presidency. With growing tensions between Israel and its neighbors, and the ever-present threat of Iranian-backed terror groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, the U.S. needs strong, decisive leadership. Based on her recent performance, many are concerned Harris might not be up to the task.
