Funding Crisis Looms
The stakes are high. Without action, the federal government faces a shutdown at midnight on Friday. Congressional leaders, however, have struck a bipartisan deal to fund the government through March 14 and allocate over $100 billion in emergency disaster relief. House Republican leaders revealed the agreement to their conference Tuesday morning, according to Politico.

“The legislation could be released as early as Tuesday,” Politico reported. House Speaker Mike Johnson, however, has not committed to a 72-hour review period before voting—a move that has raised eyebrows among conservatives.
