GM Just TORCHED Biden’s Green Dreams

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

These are the vehicles that carried GM through the EV hype storm, even as Biden’s regulators, climate activists, and globalist think tanks insisted Americans were dying to drive electric. Spoiler: they weren’t.

Nothing exposes the failure of Biden’s energy narrative more than what’s happening at GM’s Orion Assembly plant. The Biden administration once touted this facility as the crown jewel of America’s “green transition,” a site destined to pump out electric pickups. Today, that plant is being retooled to build gas-powered Chevrolet Silverados, GMC Sierras, and Cadillac Escalades — the very vehicles environmental activists hate the most because buyers love them the most.⁴

Meanwhile, GM is moving production of the gas-powered Chevrolet Blazer from Mexico to Tennessee by 2027.⁵ Another direct blow to Biden’s borderless manufacturing vision and another win for Donald Trump’s pro-worker tariffs.

And then comes the real dagger: GM just absorbed a $1.6 billion financial hit because consumer demand for EVs stalled once Trump killed Biden’s $7,500 federal EV handouts. The company admitted the write-down came from “stalled consumer adoption and regulatory changes.”⁷ In plain English: the EV “revolution” only existed because taxpayers were forced to subsidize it.

GM isn’t even trying to sugarcoat the collapse. The company scrapped its BrightDrop electric van after commercial fleets refused to buy it without subsidies.⁸ Production of electric Cadillacs is being slashed, and EV shift expansions have been postponed across multiple plants.

EVs accounted for a tiny 6 percent of GM’s U.S. sales this year — barely up from last year, nowhere near Biden’s promised takeover.¹⁰

Even the United Auto Workers is praising Trump’s tariffs. UAW President Shawn Fain flat-out said GM’s move proved “strategic auto tariffs work” and would create “thousands of good paying union jobs.”¹¹

That’s the part the Biden White House never understood. The EV mandate wasn’t about workers, consumers, or American industry. It was about ideology. Trump’s policies focused on reality — and workers are seeing the results in their paychecks.

GM’s leadership made that crystal clear. “When we invest in our workforce, we’re not only building great vehicles — we’re helping secure the future of American manufacturing.”¹²

And that future isn’t running on Biden’s solar-powered fantasies. It’s running on gasoline, steel, American labor, and the kind of common-sense economics Washington forgot long ago.

GM just slammed the brakes on Biden’s green crusade. Americans — and their paychecks — are better off for it.
