Renowned Republican and Fox News contributor Newt Gingrich has expressed serious concerns about the Colorado Supreme Court’s recent decision. Donald Trump, the former president, is now essentially barred from running for office by this ruling, which could have disastrous effects on the country.
During his visit on “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News, the former Speaker talked about more than just the 2024 election. Rather, he looked at the wider ramifications that this specific case would have for upcoming elections.

He voiced concern, saying, “This situation has the potential for catastrophe.” “Out of the 1,360,000 Coloradans who voted for Donald Trump in the previous election, four lawyers are seeking to prevent his appearance on the ballot. Essentially, for every 340,000 Trump supporters in Colorado, one lawyer is obstructing their choice. This level of arrogance from the establishment is simply untenable.”
“The refusal to include Abraham Lincoln on the ballot in 1860 was the most recent significant resistance comparable to this,” said the previous Speaker. “It is essential that the Supreme Court comprehends that the American people will not stand for this. They will not accept being restricted from choosing their preferred presidential candidate.”
An intriguing forecast was followed by a statement that read, “This is not Venezuela, Nicaragua, or Cuba. The Democrats are on the verge of provoking a potentially catastrophic confrontation for our nation.” Shortly after, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick expressed his opinion that Texas might prevent President Joe Biden from being on the 2024 ballot because of the way he has handled the border situation in an interview with host Laura Ingraham.
Laura, seeing what happened in Colorado tonight has caused me to think about a very important matter. Here in Texas, we take great pride in our democracy, so maybe it’s time to take Joe Biden off the Texas ballot. More than 8 million people have crossed the border as a result of his presidency, significantly disrupting our state and far exceeding any recent actions taken by others. Gingrich concurred with Patrick’s statements made in a video clip that aired on Ingraham’s show the night before.
“I mean, look at what has happened to America with this open border. That in and of itself is its own type of insurrection against sovereignty, against the rule of law. So is this not a natural reaction if this is the precedent they set?” the host said.
“The former Speaker emphasized, ‘Yes, the consequences of Biden’s illegal immigration policy are dire and intentional. It’s not a mere border failure, but a deliberate disaster caused by the influx of Biden’s illegal immigrants.'”
“There is a deliberate policy on the border to maximize the number of people who come in. The next stage will be for the left to demand that they be allowed to vote even though they are here illegally. You can see the whole process,” he said. “And that’s why we are, I think, moving dangerously close to a really genuine confrontation other than the very nature of America.”

He thinks the Democrats and the White House want to incite unrest prior to the 2024 election.
“I think what you heard last night from the Texas contingent tells you know, this is still a country where states have enormous levels of freedom. And if we are going to get into a real knockdown, drag-out fight, which would be crazy, let me emphasize.”
After the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that former President Donald Trump could not be included on the ballot in 2024, Trump responded quickly. Trump responded quickly to the court’s decision, which was based on the 14th Amendment’s insurrection clause.
Legal professionals discuss how the decision might affect the country.
Constitutional expert and law professor Jonathan Turley of Georgetown University said, “This country is a powder keg, and this court is just throwing matches at it. For people that say they are trying to protect democracy, this is hands down the most anti-democratic opinion I’ve seen in my lifetime.”
