Convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, serving time for her disturbing role in Jeffrey Epstein’s underage sex trafficking ring, is now making demands from behind bars. Maxwell, currently locked up in a federal prison in Florida, wants immunity before she even considers talking to Congress—despite being subpoenaed by House Republicans desperate to expose the full scope of the Epstein network.

According to NBC News, the committee has rejected Maxwell’s demand outright. “The committee will not consider granting congressional immunity for her testimony,” a spokesperson confirmed. That statement slams the door on Maxwell’s attempt to negotiate her way out of accountability—at least for now.
Last week, Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) formally notified Maxwell that she would be subpoenaed for an in-person interview. The interview would take place at the federal lockup in Tallahassee, where Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted for her role in facilitating Epstein’s abuse of minors. Comer’s subpoena followed media reports suggesting Maxwell was ready and “willing” to talk to lawmakers.
