Get the Scoop on Jen Psaki’s Explosive Claim

Former White House press secretary and current MSNBC anchor Jen Psaki claims that Muslims who oppose LGBT ideology in schools are “manipulated” by conservatives and “white supremacists”

“The GOP successfully managed to split off Southern Whites from the Democratic Party. Now, decades later, the right wing is reviving that same playbook, this time with Muslim Americans and trans people,” Psaki said. “The GOP is trying to recruit Muslim Americans… against another tiny marginalized group of Americans, transgender people.”

The former press secretary for Biden describes the GOP’s position on Islamic radicalism as a general attack on Muslims. Additionally, she reiterates the myth of the “Muslim ban,” asserting that the late President Trump “banning Muslims” from entering the US. In reality, the temporary measure only applied to inhabitants of six unstable Middle Eastern and North African countries with sizable terrorist populations.

“It’s important to remember that back in 2011, during the Republican primary, the right wing had designated Muslim Americans as public enemy number one. No surprise, given that conspiracy theorists – remember the birthers? I do – have been trying for years to portray President Obama as a Trojan horse for Sharia law,” Psaki said.

“Republican after Republican candidate ginned up fear about the fabricated threat posed by an Islamic legal doctrine debated by scholars for centuries. To them, the imaginary prospect of Sharia law in this country was scarier than gun violence, climate change, and more important to discuss than, say, millions of people who didn’t have health care.”

Psaki’s comments line up with the growing Muslim American movement that is protesting the introduction of notions related to gender and the LGBT community in school curricula. Muslim men and women wearing hijabs joined forces at a recent protest in Maryland to voice their disagreement to the local schools’ decision to remove the “opt out” option for families with religious objections to sex education.

Protesters fervently demanded that “protect our children,” while counterprotesters emphasized the need of “secular schools.”

Psaki’s remarks were strongly disagreed with by Ismail Royer of the Religious Freedom Institute, who thought they were demeaning to the Muslim community.

“The left wants to scare Muslims into accepting its indoctrination of our children in exchange for a smile and pat on the head,” Royer spoke with Fox News. “They insult Muslims by portraying us as having no agency or intelligence but can’t imagine that we’ve weighed the bargain they offer us and rejected it.”
