The analysis on Saturday sheds light on Fox News’ deteriorating ratings, which have been on the decline ever since its most popular host, Tucker Carlson, was abruptly removed from the air last month.
The investigative team at Fox News was dismantled last Friday, according to Rolling Stone. This action was probably in response to the $787.5 million defamation lawsuit settlement between the network and Dominion Voting System.
“The rank and file journalists are getting let go. Meanwhile, upper management are sitting pretty while they are the execs responsible for the Dominion debacle. We are the sacrificial lambs,” A Fox News insider was reported by the magazine as stating.
Another insider revealed to Rolling Stone: “Yes, [layoffs] have happened and continue to happen.”
“I think producers, management, et cetera [are being laid-off],” Additionally, a former Fox News employee was cited as stating. “They are trying to get money off the books before June 30. They have to save money because of the [Dominion] lawsuit.”
According to the New York Daily News story, the investigation section was not eliminated; rather, it was just reorganized.
“There were three employees in the seven-person unit impacted, while four employees were offered different positions within the company,” The Daily News reported what a Fox News source said and added: “Employees on the team had already been working in other areas of the company, and had not been on major investigative programming initiatives in a long time, they added.”
Another defamation lawsuit against Fox News has been launched, this one by voting software provider Smartmatic for $2.5 billion. Unless Fox decides to settle outside of court as they did with Dominion, the lawsuit will go to trial in 2025.
After Carlson was dropped from Fox’s schedule, the network’s viewership drastically decreased.

old Fox News star Megyn Kelly recently criticized her old company for a sharp decline in viewership. She playfully gave Fox News a new moniker after a successful presentation of her SiriusXM program.
The first week without Carlson, Fox News’ primetime viewership fell by 29.6% as a result of his absence. Kelly is one of the detractors who attributes the fall to Fox News. These numbers were initially reported by Slay News.
Since Carlson’s show abruptly ended, Fox News, formerly a top cable news channel, has seen a dramatic decline in viewership. Despite being the longtime frontrunner, they are now beaten by MSNBC, a competitor network. The reasons behind Carlson’s leaving are yet unknown.
Kelly tweeted, “My audience is calling them Foxweiser,” noting the ratings drop. an allusion to Bud Light’s sharp drop in sales as a result of its catastrophic recent partnership with trans activist and biological male Dylan Mulvaney, who considers himself a woman.
Additionally on Friday’s program, Kelly provided additional concerning information regarding Fox’s ratings slide, stating that the network was only “left with about a third of their audience.”
“I mean, that’s stunning,” she said.
The ratings downturn has wreaked havoc on prime time programming, which is the network’s primary source of income. Tucker Carlson’s successor at nine o’clock, Hannity, has a declining audience. “Almost 40%, down 39%, in the 10 p.m… down 24% in the demo, down almost 20% in the total, and I could go on,” Kelly added.
Additionally, she said that prime-time programming “all anyone gives a sh*t about over there at Fox News. The prime time pays the bills, period. They’re all down.”
After Carlson was dismissed, Fox News’ viewership fell by over a million, costing them the top cable news slot. The drop was evident on “Fox News Tonight,” the new program that took over his time slot.
“Bloodbath,” Kelly said earlier. “Not even Bud Lite (which is currently giving away its beer in an effort to get ppl to pls pls drink it) lost this much of its customer base.”
