A peaceful Sunday morning turned into a scene of horror in Michigan when a gunman stormed a Latter-day Saints church and unleashed hell on the congregation. What followed was a shocking display of violence that left families shattered and an entire community searching for answers.
Tragedy in Grand Blanc Township
Officials confirmed that at least four lives were lost in the massacre, with eight more victims — including children — rushed to hospitals. Two of the dead were gunned down inside the church. Two others were discovered in the charred wreckage after the suspect ignited a fire that consumed nearly the entire building. Authorities warned that the death toll is likely to rise as several parishioners remain unaccounted for.
The blaze reduced the structure to its foundation, forcing emergency crews to suspend recovery efforts until daylight. “We do believe there were people up there that were near that fire, and they were unable to get out of the church. So we do believe that we will have additional victims once we’re able to search that,” Grand Blanc Township Police Chief William Renye told reporters.
