Fast Food World Reacts To Burger King Shock Move

He spent more than three decades at Domino’s before taking over as president of Burger King in 2021. He knows the system. He knows how corporate America usually works.

And now he is doing something that completely breaks the mold.

Starting this past week, Curtis has been personally answering calls and texts from customers across the country. Not for a quick publicity stunt. Not for a staged media event. But for four hours a day. Including nights. Including weekends.

When he told his wife about the plan, her reaction was immediate: “What happens at 2 a.m. when the phone rings?”

Curtis had an answer ready. The work phone stays downstairs on the kitchen counter until 5 in the morning.

“All I’m going to do is listen to guests and talk to guests,” Curtis said. “They can call and talk about anything they want to.”

That kind of accessibility is almost unheard of in modern corporate leadership, especially in a massive fast food chain with thousands of locations.
